This is a day or two old but, I had not seen this until a short while ago – a bit happening in our family this week and next and I have been a bit distracted from the Political scene.
However I thought this was very good – it goes for about 12 minutes.
Have a listen.
It will be interesting to see how the Roy Morgan and Taxpayers Union Curia Polls, both due in the next few days (I would think both will be out by the 13 June) compare with the two Michael is talking about here.
My apologies to Michael Laws for initially spelling his name incorrectly in the heading for this post.
Is it economics driving the exodus of talent?
Or is it the racism that Luxon et al seem reluctant to address?
If the later, then the tactic of not addressing the unrestrained apartheid creep is seriously counterproductive.
I think it’s a combination of both, plus other things that just add up to country that doesn’t have a future for people like them. Saw a couple of comments today on KB along those lines:
No wonder that my first year granddaughter is already talking of leaving nz once she she graduates
Three of my granddaughters have already gone to Oz – permanently. 🙁
And again today in discussing the preferences for Maori businesses:
I don’t know one young person who has left and returned. And I know a lot who have gone, with no plans to return. Went to the Physio the other day and he tells me he returned earlier this year from the northern hemisphere and is planning to depart permanently at the end of the year. Says he thinks the country is stuffed, with no light at the end of the tunnel. I don’t blame him. It is.
