But enough about Los Angeles. What’s happening to Law and Order in Ye Olde Hometown….

Yolanda Talley has become the first woman to hold the first deputy superintendent position of the Chicago Police Department (CPD) It means she’s 2nd in command of the entire CPD.

And she’s Black, for extra bonus DIE points.

Did I say die? Well someone almost did:

You see, a few months ago, there was a shooting in 015. A suspect shot the victim numerous times and fled. The victim told the detectives who shot him. Numerous witnesses gave descriptions and the name of the shooter. A number of security cameras recorded the shooting, verifying the victim/witness accounts. Slam dunk, right?

Well, as reported here, the shooter was the nephew of Yolanda Talley, the soon-to-be First Deputy. And after the detectives got video, interviewed witnesses, put together their reports, they went to a number of Tact teams and Fugitive Apprehension and guess what?

Six teams refused to effect the arrest

So Nephew Talley was free to roam around, doing whatever it is west side scumbags do after nearly killing someone, being identified by name numerous times and pretty much acting untouchable because of who their auntie is.

There was some good news:

Finally, they forced the issue at court, a single team stepped up and made the arrest, and Nephew Talley admitted everything. Who would have thought?

But as Second City Cop (SCC) explains, the real fix is that none of the people who ignored this are going to be dealt with in any way, which is hardly surprising since the head of Internal Affairs, which is the group that supposed to deal with police corruption, was headed by…. Yolanda Talley.

There should be at least half-a-dozen supervisory dumps, a revamping of all the teams who didn’t go after a named Aggravated Battery offender, and a new First Deputy who allegedly was threatening to dump people over this (following her dope transporting niece incident.)

Wait! What?

But wait, there’s more as SCC exclaims that while Talley announces that she “never imagined she’d be” in this role, neither did they:

  • after the dope was found in your personal car 
  • with your niece and her gang banger boyfriend
  • the gang banger who was the “informant” on the “naked woman search warrant” debacle
  • and the IAD cover-ups, including the woman-beating witness-threatening detective that was brought to the attention of your office with email proof….and you left him in place, told the victim to bid out, and told her not to mention “hostile workplace”

All that before her gangbanger nephew had his little shootout.

Also, guess who’s coming to town?:

Antifa’s pretty solid in the Windy City, as they showed five years ago (Haymarket and all that). As SCC warns his fellow cops:

Blue state blue cities are going to be summer hotbeds of stupidity until they figure out how hard the feds are going to come down on their bullshit. Don’t make any long term weekend plans for the next few months.

Ah well, the city’s budget problems may soon overwhelm all other news:

[Mayor Brandon] Johnson’s fellow gurus pressed aldermen to fast-track his latest tax grab at Tuesday’s Revenue Subcommittee meeting. Why the rush?  Because when the state tax expires, the city will likely face an even larger budget deficit than it already has — digging the budget hole $80 million deeper than its current roughly $1 billion deficit.

The latest tax grab is a proposed tax on groceries of only 1%, but that’s on top of:

  • The Illinois state sales tax of 6.25%
  • The Cook County sales tax of 2.75% (Chicago is in Cook County)
  • The Chicago sales tax of 1.25%

That’s a grand total of 10.25%. Meh! Less than GST here in New Zealand – and they’re not calculated on each other as GST is here on things such as petrol, where it’s applied after the petrol tax is, a case the government won years ago.

The Mayor of Chicago is currently polling at 7%.
