Now including a New Zealand contingent, and a communist no less, Pat O’Dea bleating on The Daily Blog:
The New Zealand contingent of the Global March to Gaza, even though we have broken no Egyptian laws, we have had to go into hiding to avoid arrest, and deportation. The situation is worsening, criminal gangs working with the police have been assaulting convoyers. Could the panel urgently discuss what diplomatic protection and support our governmen could provide us?
The Minister of Foreign Affairs the Honourable Mr Winston Peters has issued a travel advisory for New Zealanders in or intending to travel to Israel. Could the Minister for Foreign Affairs the Honourable Mr Winston Peters be lobbied to issue a statement that if the safety of NZ citizens in Egypt can not be reasonably guranteed, that he may have to issue a similar travel advisory for New Zealanders in or intending to travel to Eygpt.
We are here on a peaceful mission and have travelled a long way to get here at great expense many of us supported by go fund me and loans from friends.
Meanwhile not far from us, the extermination of the Palestinian people has reached new levels of barbarity.
We appeal to the New Zealand government and ministers to do the best they can to help us complete our peaceful mission in safety.
Yours faithfully Patrick John O’Dea, Cairo, Egypt.Awwwww…..

You may recall something called March to Gaza, which I covered in the post, But Who Will Shield Them From Hamas? Supposedly thousands of people from all over the world were going to march from Al-Arish in Egypt to the Rafah crossing into Gaza on June 15 to demand an end to “the genocide in Gaza and the opening of the border for humanitarian aid.”
Basically it meant people from Western nations because they’re the only ones with the money and spare time to do such a thing. Unfortunately for the movement that also meant people who were utterly clueless about the situation on the ground because of the Lefty bubbles in which they’re wrapped. So this happened:
As they exited the airport, the activists were blocked from leaving the area by Egyptian authorities. Locals then gave the crowd a less-than-warm welcome. When nightfall arrived, things got even worse, with belts and water bottles being used to pelt the crowd.
…
Egyptian authorities then started confiscating passports and carrying out deportations. One flight alone saw 73 activists sent packing on Thursday, with more waiting their turn.
I must admit I didn’t think of asking the question in the original post, who will shield them from the Egyptian cops?
Here’s the reactions of a couple of these Euro-activists, who hadn’t realised that most of the Arab world cannot stand the Palestinians.
First up is this woman who is very surprised by the reactions of the Egyptian police and crowd,
But this guy is my favourite, as he goes into full WesternManSplaining mode to Muslim Egyptians about why they should care for the Gazans. All the approaches that have undoubtedly served him so well in the West when “debating” his opponents are seen here; lecturing, guilting, shaming – even crying while on his knees.
Which the Egyptian cops, even with a translator on hand, are utterly unmoved by. It’s perfect in so many ways. The only tactic not seen is abuse, probably because his tiny brain has managed to at least figure out that such would not be a good approach to take with these guys.
Everywhere the Palestinians have been in the Arab world they have bought havoc and disaster. That is why no Arab country will take them in.
Egypt got the shit kicked out of them in two wars, made peace with Israel, and now want nothing to do with the Gazans, or the people who help them. I could have told them this before they set off assuming all the A-rabs were buddies.
in that first Twitter post from leviathan, at the very end is a woman climbing over some stuff, and she’s clearly wearing shorts.
I’ve been to Egypt. I can tell you with absolute certainty the reaction a woman gets when she walks around Cairo in shorts is brutal.
they are clearly just dumb, with no idea where they are out what they’re doing.
i dare Gays for Palestine to have a go
