Most politicians are clueless but some are more clueless than others…

Just a quick note on the Great Socialist Victory in New York City:

As I note in my upcoming article, “56% of registered voters in the city are Democrats so some 7.2% of city residents voted for him. New York City has a population of 8.2 million. Of those 432,305 or 5% voted for Mamdani.” You can go with the 7% figure which represents voters, but either way this is far from the massive sweep of the city that the media is hyping.

Meantime there was an unexpected, if strange result from Israel’s attack on Iran:

Dozens of “Scottish independence” X accounts suddenly went silent on June 12—the same day Israel began its strike on Iran, including a major cyber attack. They’d been tweeting nonstop for months. Then, nothing. Turns out, they may have been Iranian bots all along.

May have been? The real question is what did Iran think it was accomplishing with this, or did Scottish Nationalists get a cheap deal from bot outfit in Iran?

Amidst all the war news there was actually some peace news, which I had not been tracking, in keeping with most of the rest of the West. I’m surprised the Trump Administration was able to achieve this after 30 years of war between Rwanda and Congo, given that I would not have thought they had much leverage. Six million dead? Where have the Western protests about that been?
