Roy Morgan caught me on the hop by being a week earlier this month. I actually spotted it around midday Wednesday when I was busy and then forgot about it yesterday.
Roy Morgan Polls should not be ignored though because they almost always contribute something of interest. Here are details from the latest.
National 32.0%
ACT 11.5%
NZFirst 8.0%
Total 51.5%
Labour 28.5%
Greens 11.0%
Maori Party 5.0%
Total 44.5%
Other sit at 4% and are not broken down in this poll.
What it tells us is that the Coalition could survive despite Nationals stagnation and the Opposition are floundering around and show slight signs of being less of a danger. Then again if Hipkins gets dumped the game changes because that gives Winston Peters options and it would be stupid to rule out a replay of 2017 – especially if Peters sees the opportunity to manipulate the new Labour leadership for extra baubles.
Hold fast Chippy – New Zealand needs you as leader of the Labour party to stop the unthinkable and unbearable happening.
As always Roy Morgan include a raft of additional information so here is the link to their post.

“Stagnates”: An interesting word in this context.
While there is no doubt that with National, scum floats on the top and it is lined with mud and shit, I question whether holding its own is stagnation – or disinterest?
MTT I see it like a pool in a creek with no outlet.
All green and scummy on top.
National/Labour have 60% popularity. That’s quite low. If there was a NZ equivalent of the Reform Party, I suspect National’s support would collapse, but Winston Peters is a liar, and David Seymour is stuck in 1995 somewhere.
Interesting point of view Exiled.
I would have Seymour down as the only forward looking and thinking of the 3 Leaders.
Granted, but he’s never going to be NZ’s Nigel Farage without a serious political makeover. He’s a globalist in charge of a liberal, globalist party at a time when those views are being repudiated by most of us on the Right.
