Obviously Marty’s and my political opinions are at opposite ends of the political spectrum and I really struggle with his views that, to my mind, lack any degree of objectivity.

Nonetheless if you sift through Bradbury’s BS in this article there are some points of note.

“You don’t realise this because the mainstream media are dying keeping you dumb” Can’t argue with him here!

Maybe we are “dumb rednecks”, or maybe just dumb, because, what do you think the chances are of the 60 Māori Land Trusts he talks about, actually winning their case in the high court? Tikanga and kaitiakitanga seem to carry a lot of weight in our legal system. Again, Bradbury is correct when stating – “…it was John Key selling 49% of the Hydro Assets that triggered Māori going to the Waitangi Tribunal and the Waitangi Tribunal agreed with Māori that they do have an interest in water and that it was the State’s responsibility to negotiate that interest with Māori.” There’s John Keys fingers again.

Weren’t we all so very, very pleased with our new coalition government when in February ’24 they scrapped 3waters. Labours Water Services Entity Act established  50/50 co-governance of the country’s entire water infrastructure and iwi were given the power of veto through Mana o te Wai statements. That actually handed them total control!

Could it be we are “jumping out of the frying pan into the fire” with Water Done Well?

Because now the “control” is with local bodies and look how much of MSM and social media is taken up with how local council spending is OUT OF CONTROL?  Defund Councils! Cap Rates! No vanity projects! Even The Pinball Wizard would have no difficulty working out water rates are going to soar under the new “Water Done Well” regime!

Is Marty correct when he states – Your rates will explode because the new water entities created by National aren’t Government backed so all the cost will be borne by you!
