Obviously Marty’s and my political opinions are at opposite ends of the political spectrum and I really struggle with his views that, to my mind, lack any degree of objectivity.
Nonetheless if you sift through Bradbury’s BS in this article there are some points of note.
“You don’t realise this because the mainstream media are dying keeping you dumb” Can’t argue with him here!
Maybe we are “dumb rednecks”, or maybe just dumb, because, what do you think the chances are of the 60 Māori Land Trusts he talks about, actually winning their case in the high court? Tikanga and kaitiakitanga seem to carry a lot of weight in our legal system. Again, Bradbury is correct when stating – “…it was John Key selling 49% of the Hydro Assets that triggered Māori going to the Waitangi Tribunal and the Waitangi Tribunal agreed with Māori that they do have an interest in water and that it was the State’s responsibility to negotiate that interest with Māori.” There’s John Keys fingers again.
Weren’t we all so very, very pleased with our new coalition government when in February ’24 they scrapped 3waters. Labours Water Services Entity Act established 50/50 co-governance of the country’s entire water infrastructure and iwi were given the power of veto through Mana o te Wai statements. That actually handed them total control!
Could it be we are “jumping out of the frying pan into the fire” with Water Done Well?
Because now the “control” is with local bodies and look how much of MSM and social media is taken up with how local council spending is OUT OF CONTROL? Defund Councils! Cap Rates! No vanity projects! Even The Pinball Wizard would have no difficulty working out water rates are going to soar under the new “Water Done Well” regime!
Is Marty correct when he states – Your rates will explode because the new water entities created by National aren’t Government backed so all the cost will be borne by you!
Funnily enough I was just luxuriating in another of his bleats along similar lines, Dear NZ Blokes against Wokes – how’s the economy going?
He’s recently written many articles bemoaning the Left’s loss of the working class, especially working class men, because of all the insane wokism on the Left, and appealing to men to overlook this and return to fight capitalism
But now he’s given up and it’s back to abusing them as stupid, racist morons.
I always laughed at “Bomber” getting his nickname because of his bombastic writing style; whatever the topic – politicians, activists, movements, causes, anything – he always writes the most extreme message and wording he can craft, everything is pitched at 15 on a scale of 1-10 with the bloated, bearded git.
Bombastic is one way to describe Marty Tom.
I sent this to my mailing group yesterday. I also apologised today for sending 2 Bradbury articles in 2 days!!!
I haven’t posted any of Bomber Bradbury’s inanity for sometime but his thoughts in his article of yesterday deserved a wider audience.
“The mainstream media never like to tell you that the allegations against Tarsh, the Manurewa Marae and Māori Party were made by Destiny Church factions.” Wow a rabid leftist railing against the MSM!
“NZF won’t put up a candidate because they want to trash the Māori electorates…” There are a lot more people than NZF who would like to see Maori seats gone!
“Willie Jackson could be considered…” Willie wouldn’t take a risk like that!
“…with the electoral tide coming in for the Māori Party, having Tamihere inside as a Politician to lead the negotiations for a possible change of Government next year…” Take note Mr Luxon!
“What Labour and the Māori Party, have to do is use this by-election and the debate to show how respectful they can be…” Say what?

Bradbury is one of those people who has substituted his lack of intelligence with a bombastic, larger than life personality. Most of what he says is just recycled socialist drivel. Like many men, he got into socialism as a way of getting laid, and has enough self awareness to realize that the Left no longer caters to men like him (even though he went to Takapuna Grammar), but he lacks the ability to pivot at this point of his life, because of sunk cost fallacy. So he just amps it up and doubles down.
I actually did get an answer from him when he banned me from commenting on TDB, and it wasn’t because of anything I’d said there.
It was for when he’d lavished praise on Willie Jackson and John Tamahere for the umpteenth time and, over at Kiwiblog, I’d compared this to a threesome sex act you might see in a Bangkok bar.
Which shows you that in between writing these endlessly repeated screeds for clicks he does silently surf the likes of Kiwiblog, although he doesn’t dare argue, let alone re-produce his TDB vomit there.
I went to Takapuna Grammar a long time ago. I always find it vaguely depressing that Bomber went there as well.
“But now he’s given up and it’s back to abusing them as stupid, racist morons.“
The problem that Bomber has is that he has failed to realise that he is everything that is wrong with “the left”.
I may not agree with someone like Chris Trotter, but I can still respect him. I’d happily have a meal and a beer with him.
Bomber is just another loud mouth looking for attention that I’d avoid like the plague.
” Your rates will explode because the new water entities created by National aren’t Government backed so all the cost will be borne by you”
Who did Bomber think was going to pay, Māori?
Hardly, it is always going to fall on us, the dummies who pay tax and rates, except this way a certain class isn’t going to get quite the slice Labour were going to gift to them.
