Labour MP Willie Jackson accuses government of rigging next election
Click bait for the disenchanted and disaffected! But well worth a read.
Willie has one hell of a warped idea of honesty and objectivity, and we pay him around a salary of $168,600 to express that warped view!

RNZ, Left Leaning News INC. Even Scoop denounced RNZ with – “RNZ has long been a deteriorating organization and dripping with bias.”
So, no surprises RNZ gives arch hypocrite, Willie Jackson column space to pontificate on his warped sense of the democratic process.
In 2022 Willie ranted on Q&A where he slammed the ‘one person, one vote’ concept as outrageous, highlighting his ignorance further with “the nature of our democracy has changed!” “…democracy in 2022 is broader and more expansive than just one person, one vote.”
He then had the effrontery to respond with “politicians questioning the changes are engaging in racist dog-whistles”.
This is the same Willie Jackson who, again in 2022 as recently-appointed Minister of Broadcasting and Media, introduced a new public media entity bill into Parliament.
It was the Aotearoa New Zealand Public Media Bill.
If that bill passed, the government’s new public media entity would have replaced RNZ and TVNZ the following year. It was to become an Autonomous Crown Entity.
The government initially committed $327 million to part-fund it.
That $327 was just another case of the Labour government playing fast and loose with our, the taxpayers money, to further their political aims.
It was claimed the existing RNZ and TVNZ legislation “does not place sufficient emphasis on the Crown’s obligations to Māori”. Wow, at that time maori had a separate maori television service set up for them and they had iwi radio, reo irirangi, that comprises 21 iwi radio stations around the country.
“The rise of online misinformation was another reason to boost public media to provide reliable accurate news.” How is that for more Jackson BS!
“Do you really think that the government will be managing interviews or trying to change stuff? “We shouldn’t worry about that. There will be no editorial stranglehold,” Jackson crowed.
Well hang on a minute there Willie. Your government had well proven track record of being very, very adept at manipulating the mainstream media and what stories get printed and what don’t!
Appointing Willie Jackson as Minister of Broadcasting in 2022 was akin to employing a fox to guard the henhouse!

Willie has previously worked as a Meat Workers union organiser, record company executive, broadcaster, sports talkback radio host and urban Māori advocate.
Presumably he was labouring in the meat works before he spied the easiest way to earn the big coin was by becoming a union delegate!
Given the backgrounds of his contemporaries, maybe he just sneaks in as “working class”
