The MSM are not learning from past mistakes. Here’s just a sample of stories they’ve manipulated hard in recent weeks:

  • The outright lying about the “starving Gazan boy”. With no apologies from the likes of the New York Times when the lie was exposed.
  • The Epstein scandal: Trump certainly stepped on his own dick in talking this up before being elected President, but the MSM’s efforts to blow it up further have been extreme

Between July 14 and July 20, the name “Epstein” was uttered 160 times on Fox News, which seems a little excessive for a one-week period. It comes to roughly 23 mentions/stories a day, and an “Epstein” each hour.

Of course, over the same one-week period, “Epstein” was cited 617 times by CNN — and a remarkable 751 times by MSNBC.

Which means, for MSNBC’s (few dozen) fans, they heard Epstein’s name mentioned over 107 times a day!

The MSM are just not getting it, and by “it” I mean their lack of self-awareness that they can no longer control the Narrative – what the public and politicians are talking about – in 2025.

If that were true, Donald J Trump would not be President.

In the case of Epstein, having largely ignored the story for years now they’re obviously pushing it in an attempt to flood the news zone and bury the vastly more important news that Obama and his Intelligence Community buddies corrupted the Intelligence process in 2016 to support the Trump-Russia Collusion story that hammered the first Trump Administration from 2016 to 2018 when it finally died (only to be immediately succeeded by the Impeachment bullshit around the Trump-Zelensky phonecall).

As just one example of the meltdown this is causing in the MSM – because they were the essential water carriers that made the original story possible – Rolling Stone has just published a story claiming that these documents are themselves Russian disinformation. They’re actually doubling down on the narrative:

[H]ow exactly could the Kremlin have predicted—months before the Steele dossier went public—that Democrats would need cover for a bogus collusion narrative? The timeline alone shatters the narrative. These emails surfaced before the Russia hoax fully took shape and even hinted at the FBI preparing to legitimize the Steele dossier—perfectly aligning with other suppressed evidence of Obama-era interference. But instead of confronting any of it, the media memory-holes the facts to keep the story alive.

Thirty years ago such an effort from the MSM would have worked against a GOP President, or any Republican. You would think that Trump being elected twice – especially after a four year shit storm of this, plus the previous four years – would have instructed these people that they no longer have that power, as none other than famous pollster Nate Silver showed:

Another hit job on Trump by the MSM turns into yet another failure. As I quoted in an earlier post on the rule of law in America:

But their non-violent tools for this, such as screaming “racist!”, have rapidly lost their power (again, as shown by the votes for Trump).

But no, just like Tim Hunter in NZ, they have no clue and are simply going to ride all the way into the ground to crash and burn:

Year-over-year, the network saw declines of 13% in total viewers in primetime and a 15% drop in the 25-54 demo.

This in a nation of 350 million people where podcasts like those of Joe Rogan and Megyn Kelly rack up millions or even tens of millions of views each day.

On that note the Washington Post is succeeding in having its TDS reporters taking an offer they can’t refuse, which is to quit with a fat golden parachute, recent victims including Trump Haters Supreme, Jonathan Capehart, the excerable Philip Bump, whose work for the Democrat Party was documented nicely here in 2023 by another Liberal getting stuck into him about the Hunter Biden emails, and of course “Fact Checker” Glenn Kessler,

Kessler deserves his own post because he had his head shoved further up the rectum of the Democrat Party than any of the others, difficult as that may be to imagine – and also because he pioneered the art of “fact-checking” that arose in the MSM as trust in their reporting collapsed. His departure is a signal that this gambit too, has now failed.
