Labour’s Greg O’Connor wins quote of the day and it’s not even lunchtime .

National and Labour MPs are in their respective caucus meetings, but spoke with reporters as they made their way in. Labour’s Greg O’Connor, who is the MP for Ōhāriu, was asked whether he would stand in 2026 given his electorate is one which will be redrawn, altering the political landscape, and renamed Wellington North in 2026.

O’Connor first said he was “standing firmly” adding he has had injury. He was pressed then which way he is swaying, and gave an interesting response which drew questions to a close.

I’m quite happy to be standing firmly erect at the moment.

So I’ll leave it at that.”
