This is a stark contrast from the TVNZ Verian poll on Monday and if she sees it will dampen Maiki Shermans hysteria.
National 36.5%
ACT 11.0%
NZFirst 5.5%
Total 53.0%
Labour 24.5%
Greens 13.0%
Maori Party 5.50%
Total 43.0%
The Labour figure is far more realistic than the 30% from the Verian Poll while 5.5% for the Maori Party seems very optimistic despite the 6 seats they currently hold.
What will be interesting is to see where theyGreens go once James Shaw departs today. My guess is they will rip a few hard core lefties from Labour but more moderate past Green supporters will wander off to other parties. If Labour don’t get them because of their polling then NZFirst, National and even ACT may each gain a few.

Maiki Sherman…. Wont cover this poll is my guess. Its not TVNZs poll so why promote it.
I havent seen her performance from the 29th… Probably wont look for it as rabid foam flecked rants from lefties are not my thing.
I haven’t seen it either Trev.
I have only heard the brief sound bites Mike Hosking played yesterday morning.
Maiki Sherman at least removed all doubt as to the political neutrality of TVNZ. It does seem that it was noticed:

Complaints to the BSA? Waste of time in terms of practical outcomes, but I suppose the numbers count for something in that it’s a further reminder to Sherman and her bosses that there’s more than one political (possibly even ideological) side in the country, and she’s fully in support of one of them.
Mind you, the steady and ongoing commercial failure of TVNZ and company should already have been a wake up call far exceeding 50 complaints to the BSA.
I don’t actually know if 50 is a lot or a few or somewhere in between, it was just the first time I’d ever seen complaints about the coverage of a political editor on TV.
I would like to hope that there is someone with a brain somewhere in that organisation that sees it and thinks “maybe from a business perspective this may not be great alienating a large percentage of our viewing population”
Then again maybe one day pigs will fly.
Apparently the average is about 6 complaints per day. Even that seems high given the declining viewership, but I guess the aging audience TVNZ has still expect balance and objectivity and all that obsolete rubbish – and think it can be obtained by complaining to the BSA.
Sad.
